KC and Kaity came out to Cascadia for their annual visit to chase off-season waves. Despite some serious issues with their rental car things went fairly well. The weather didn’t cooperate much, but the surf was surprisingly surfable, if not a bit too big.

As much as I complain about it at the time it’s definitely good for me to be pushed outside of my comfort zone, which definitely happens whenever KC is around. Pretty sure I checked the buoy before we paddled out at shorties and it was 8.5ft @ 11seconds. Definetly bigger than what I’d go out in alone, but that beach tends to filter out some size, and the south end rip was working very well, albeit terrifying.

My local forecasting skillz came in handy and KC managed to score a fun session at a local novelty spot with only 2 people out. Pretty sure it was his best surf ever on the north coast…

See you next year! Or maybe we’ll go to Mexico instead…
